Let me introduce myself…
My name is Kelly, I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Kirkcaldy just off the high street. I work Integratively, meaning I pull different parts of counselling together to shape a unique and tailor-made approach to your counselling sessions.
Bringing person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Polyvagal theory, Psychodynamic, internal family system and Gestalt together, allows me to work collaboratively with you to make your therapy sessions fit your needs.
Before training as a counsellor I studied social science, which allows me to develop a systemic understanding of our world. Similarly to my work as an integrative counsellor, studying social science has allowed me to bring elements of sociology, history, politics and psychology into my work and has allowed me to develop a broad and diverse understanding of ‘being human.’
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). This means my training and qualifications have met the criteria set by the BACP. As a registered member of the BACP, I have undertaken examinations that confirm I meet these criteria and ensure I am upholding Ethical standards through training, supervision, continuing professional development and a contractual commitment to the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
I believe in working inclusively with non-oppressive practice. Whatever you would like to work on, we will work together to identify what you need from therapy, tailoring your counselling sessions to you. I believe you are the expert in your life and together with my knowledge of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I can support you in achieving your goals.
